About us

The Street Shed was formed to satisfy a need to help deal with Loneliness and Mental Health of older people, who may feel isolated and forgotten in their community.

Not all older people, but more normaly men, do not have many places to go where they can talk, socialise and work with other people, they can work on projects of their own design, or work for the community by refurbishment of things like benches or recycle furniture for charities etc.

The lottery money will help to provide equipment to carry out the work and help with materials and equipment maintenance.

Our aim is to remove the barriers that the older people find in the community; these include health and wellbeing, loneliness and mental health issues. We do however also invite anyone over the age of 18, of any gender or ethnic back ground to be a part of the Shed. We have an active lady's section who meet on a Tuesday afternoon.

In Septemebr 2020 we changed our name to The Street & Walton Men's Shed to reflect our geographical location.

Please note we are not open to non-members at the moment, all sessions are restricted to a max. of 6 to comply with covid-19 regs.

We are open:

Tuesdays: 9am to 12:30pm & 1pm to 4:30pm(ladies session)

Wednesday: 9am to 12;30pm

Thursday: 9am to 12:30pm & 1pm to 4:30 pm

A place of leisure where people come together to work and socialise in a friendly atmosphere.
